How to Create Windows Bootable USB

How to Create Windows Bootable USB

Microsoft has streamlined how we download and set up media with Windows 10, which may actually be confusing for some. Since systems today use Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) instead of BIOS (a replacement to standard BIOS), the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool is becoming redundant.

Download small utility tool Rufus from here https://rufus.akeo.ie/

1. After Rufus and the ISO has been downloaded; open rufus and choose the Device (USB) which should be used as your bootable media.

2. In the option Partition scheme and target system type select  "MBR Partition scheme for BIOS and UEFI" from drop-down menu.

3. Leave the File System & Cluster Size to default settings

4. Remember to label the drive.

5. In the option "Create a bootable disk Using"  do the check on box and ensure that the ISO Image is selected from the drop down, use the small drive icon to locate and choose the image.

6. Next, choose Start to finish.

Your next step is Install Windows from a USB Flash Drive
